About Hiroshi
I was born and raised in America, but my family's craft comes from Sakai, the old town in Japan where my grandparents made knives for a living. I grew up on those stories. Then I went back as a teenager, stood in a real workshop for the first time, and something took hold of me. Making a blade is slow, quiet work. It asks for patience, love, and a steady hand. There is a word for that in Japan, ikigai, a reason for being, and it is the standard I hold every Sakura knife to.
Now I am closing this chapter, and I am letting my final collection go at up to 80% off. These are the last blades I will offer under this name, and once they are gone, they are gone for good.
